Consumables on your fiber laser are generally within the cutting head.
The main fiber laser consumables are:
- Nozzles: 50-60 per year
- Protection lens: 50 per year
- Ceramic rings: 1-5 per year
- Focus lens: replace 2-5 years
- Collimation lens: replace 2-5 years
Consumable cutting gas for fiber laser:
- Nitrogen
- Oxygen
- Compressed air
Other machine consumables:
- Lubricating oil (1 gallon annually)
- Table blades (2-4 years)
The most frequently replaced parts are nozzles, and bottom protection lens. A general user will need about 50 pieces every year (FYI: This depends on the cutting environment, operation, etc,.). For ceramic rings, you will need about 1-5 pcs annually. Focusing and collimation lenses resist contamination well compared to the protection lens. 1 set as a spare is adequate, which we provide with every machine as a standard.
All lenses come with a lens drawer, making them easy to replace yourself. Normally you only need to check the bottom protection lens. The more expensive lenses resist contamination for much longer, and their expected lifetime is 2-5 years. Hytek uses Bochu cutting heads, which now include temperature sensors. The head will alarm on your software when the protection lens is polluted, removing guesswork from the equation. This allows for a much more efficient workflow.
These are some general consumable knowledge observed from our years of being involved in the Fiber Laser Industry. None of them are guaranteed, but it is meant to give you a general idea of what the consumption items and rate of replacement.
